is a privately owned family business based in the North of Scotland. We are probably the only independent aquaculture and fish health specialist company doing research in the UK.

James A Mackie (Agricultural) is an innovative company able to supply a wide range of products and are also constantly looking for and developing new products.

Jim Mackie has over 32 years experience in the animal health field and over 24 years in fish health having been employed by a number of specialist companies before setting up his own business in 1991.

Some of his successes from development to commercial use is the use of peroxide as a sea lice treatment and the use of bioflavonoids in fish diets. Although much trial and development work has been done in the field, further research has been done through the Departments of Aquaculture at University of Stirling, University of Tasmania, Memorial University of Newfoundland and other commercial research facilities. A current project is the development of an anaesthetic for aquaculture.
